Around mid-August 2025, I began working on paper (drawings) and started contemplating how to translate onto canvas this growing desire to place my consciousness on the other side—a place quite different from before. This “other side” might mean within the painting itself, or perhaps the painting itself.
2025年8月中旬あたりから紙の仕事（ドローイング）をスタートし、今までとはもっと違う向こう側に自分の意識を置きたいという気持ちの高まりをどのようにキャンバスに置き換えるかについて考えるようになった。向こう側というのは、絵の中という意味かもしれないし、絵そのものなのかもしれない。

From mid-March 2025, I traveled through the Netherlands, Germany, and Belgium for two weeks, and upon returning home, I primarily exhibited paintings created during that time. It felt like I was contemplating what I wanted to paint from a different angle than before. The title “Rainy Day” reflects my dislike of rain. It also overlays the lethargic feeling I experience when it's actually raining with the new sense of anticipation present within the weariness I felt after returning home.
2025年3月の中旬から2週間にかけてオランダ・ドイツ・ベルギーを旅し、帰国後に描いた絵を中心に発表しました。自分が何を描こうとしているのかについて、今までとは違う角度で考えるような感覚。「雨降る日」というタイトルは、私が雨が苦手なこと。そして、実際に雨が降っている時の気怠い気持ちと帰国後の倦怠感の中にある新しい気配を重ねたものです。

I presented paintings created between 2023 and early 2025. The exhibition title, “Chasing Kairos,” reflects what I think about every day when I paint. Opportunities lie hidden in places we easily overlook, and they slip away quickly. So, I face my paintings daily, chasing after those chances. This phrase emerged when I tried to put my current state into words.

2023年から2025年の初めまでに描いた絵を発表しました。「カイロスを追いかけて」という個展タイトルは、毎日絵を描く時に思うこと。チャンスは気づきにくいところに落ちていて、すぐに逃げてしまうので、そのチャンスを追いかけるように日々絵と向き合っている。そんな今の状態を言語化しようとした時に出てきた言葉です。

I presented paintings created from summer 2023 through early spring 2024. Continuing the flow from 2022, I spent my days painting faces and landscapes while contemplating what exactly I was painting and why I couldn't stop painting. Thus, the solo exhibition title became “What My Eyes Saw.” It carries a stronger connotation of “what my eyes saw” rather than “what I saw.” I was exploring how to transform and transpose perceived experiences into concrete paintings.
2023年の夏以降から2024年の春先にかけて描いた絵たちを発表しました。2022年からの流れで顔を描いたり風景を描くような日々を送りながら、自分がいったい何を描いているのか、なぜ描かずにはいられないのかについて考えていたので、個展のタイトルは「めがみたこと」となりました。「私が見たこと」というよりは、「私の目がみたこと」という意味合いが強いです。知覚したことをどのように具象的な絵画に転化するか、置き換えるかということをしていました。

The series “Someone's Face and Something About Them,” which I began drawing in October 2022. For me, drawing faces isn't about painting portraits; I think it's probably about painting the “heart.” Seeing the face as a “heart” and painting ‘something’ about the person (heart) who possesses that face was a very enjoyable “play.”
2022年10月から描き始めた「誰かの顔とその人の何か」シリーズ。私にとって顔を描くことは肖像画を描くことではなくて、「こころ」を描くことなんだと思う。「こころ」としての顔を見て、その顔を持つ人（こころ）の「何か」を絵にすることはとても楽しい「あそび」だった。
