Group show “Little Solid”

This is an exhibition scene from when I participated in a group exhibition at the Bigakkon Painting Course.
美学校ペインティング講座のグループ展に参加した時の展示風景です。
Paintings I began creating after April 2025, alongside those I started in early 2024. I also exhibited pieces continuing works I had painted over ten years ago. At this point, I didn't dwell on whether this marked an ending or a continuation—it was simply the landscape where my hand had paused.
2025年の4月以降から描き始めた絵と、2024年の初めから描き始めた絵。10年以上前に描いていた絵の続きをまた描いた絵などを展示しました。これが終わりなのかまだ続きがあるのかはこの時は気にしないで、手が止まったところでの風景です。
Michelangelo said, “The time I decide it's finished is when it's finished.” For me, deciding when a painting is finished takes a little time. Even when I think it's done, if I live with the painting for days or months, the unfinished parts begin to seem restless, as if they're trembling. That's the moment I realize a painting is a living thing. Most paintings that have such a “false climax” teach me something new if I pursue them beyond that “deception.” That's why I want to face my paintings honestly.
ミケランジェロは「私が終わったと判断した時が、終わる時です」と言っています。私にとって絵の終わりを判断するのには少しだけ時間が必要です。終わったかと思っても、数日から数カ月の間をその絵と一緒に生きてみると、未完の絵はうずうずしているように揺れて見えるようになります。絵は生き物なんだと思う瞬間です。大概そういう「偽クライマックス」がある絵は、その「だまし」の後まで追いかけると私に新しい何かを教えてくれます。だから私は素直に絵と向き合いたいと思っています。
